So much for a quiet year πŸ™‚ I have been busy writing a new song called “Hear My Voice” for the Rural Australian’s For Refugees fundraiser that I have been invited to play at this coming Sunday. It’s great. They especially liked my arrangement of John Lennon”s “Imagine” that I opened my Classical Concert for them in 2017. It involves Robbo the Didge Man and Micklo Jarret speaking Gumbangiir, also my 10 year old friend Quinn, will be helping with English translations. I am also playing my ” Bushfire Meditations” song that I wrote during our horrific bushfire period to keep sane last year. I have already performed that at our sold out concerts with Ian Date in November last year. They were great fun. We are booked to play at Myelstom Hall in November 2020.

I have been performing on Sax quite a lot lately. I was invited by John Logan to be part of the 2 day Coffs Harbour, Elton John Festival in Coffs Central. I have also been playing Jazz Sax at a few markets and birthday parties.

My teaching at Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium is going great. My top Jazz student, who was also learning improvisatiion, jazz theory, song writing and performance, won the Bill Woods Scholarship and my 6th Grade Classical student received honours in her performance exam and high distinction in her classical theory exam.I am very proud of both of them. At the moment , my 2 days there are fully booked, but to get on the waiting list, call 66 52 1592.

I have started teaching at a private studio on Tuesday and am also available for Skype lessons.

My Music Journal is selling well and a hard copy version is available by contacting me via email.

I am thinking about recording another 6 original songs, the songs that have been helping me get through the past couple of years mourning my deep loss of Retaw.

I also have lots of utube clips to add and update.

I am well travelled and have performed at a variety of different situations, festivals to intimate gatherings and on many different instruments and genres, solo and in bands.

That’s possibly my 2nd blog ever.

I am more of an outdoors type, not really into computers.

Each time I use one correctly, I am pretty amazed!

That reminds me.

I have finally cracked a trick that I have been trying to do for about 20 years.

I can now playing the piano, into the computer, and print out exact sheet music.

Three cheers for me !!!
